Help me build a natural adobe studio for Dolby Atmos Mixing.

 Hi everyone!

Remember to comment at the bottom so I know what you'd like to hear or know.

Jay

So here's where I'm at so far and I have been looking to Dolby DARRT (https://professionalsupport.dolby.com/s/article/The-Dolby-Atmos-Room-Design-Tool?language=en_US) for design support and certification specs. The style of the studio would be a natural extension of our home to keep with the adobe design and esthetic. It would serve as mixing studio but also a content creation space for a YouTube channel and Twitch broadcasting.

I'm not sure what you're up to yet but my friends are on Twitch broadcasting DJ type shows and having a great time playing whatever they want still without restrictions. It's quite a release and I think everyone should do it. It's free. You can literally play music or talk about anything in the world. Great therapy through community, music and whatever else you can bring to the table. You don't need permission, you already have the technology to do it most likely and it costs nothing. OBS and Streamlabs are both free software to have on your computer or phone. And if you have a business you can have it be the sponsor of your show.

Below are the items included in my new studio and materials as well. I have not found the financing quite yet but the Microgreens are doing better and home deliveries are signing up. The nutrition arm of the business would ideally merge with the music and creative end of the business. Another reason for getting this blog going again. I say again because years ago when Blogger started I was back in California and had a huge audience mainly from Northern Europe. I wonder if Google really deleted all of that history.

Dolby Atmos has a big financial hurdle when starting out but if you're trying to do it at a small scale you can use Logic Pro for $200 and do some practicing with binaural headphones. I use the Sony MV-1's and I am not saying they're the best but they came recommended. They are open back headphones and I can hear everything that's going on in the room. It's very interesting. I bought them a little cheaper with my Amazon business account. That's what was the clincher. Saving a hundred dollars.

I have some images made with AI Dall-E from Chat GPT that came out nicely. A few variations of the studio that was made from me prompting it with design specs. It seemed to like putting a mixing board in the shot but my studio will be something different. It will have several Avid S1 consoles which are modular. But not a big mixing console. So some of the shots Dall-E made are just for ideas. The skylight and interior design was pretty well done. I made it do a few variations that were reflecting the southwest adobe style. The sound baffling and client couch. The speakers didn't lay out too well but it gets the point across.

I will itemize the studio for those wanting to grow into DolbyAtmos mixing and leave links to everywhere I find my gear. Sometimes going to Amazon is necessary when monitors are $100 less than retailers so if you have anything against that sort of thing and have the means, by all ...means go for it. Sweetwater is my main reliable source. And everything comes packaged well which is important when the mail gets delivered by the Samsonite Gorillas around here. Not all of them are that bad but the drivers are not the only ones who toss and turn our expensive gear while in transit.
